  1. Hey!

Do you ever look at your Twitter account, or do you just use it to publicize links?

The reason I’m asking is I’ve been reading you for awhile now. If you’re looking for followers, I’ll be happy to send you shoutouts and give you a Follow Friday sometime. I don’t know how much it will help, but if you don’t really tweet or do followbacks, that’s kinda pointless anyway.

Just let me know! I’ll be back to regular Tolkien blogging and when I don’t have a post by the end of a week, doing roundups featuring you, A Tolkienist’s perspective, and the Leather Library by mid-to-late May. I’ve had a very hectic March/April, and had to put that stuff on hold, but it’s really my favorite type of blogging.

    • Hey!

I guess I don’t really do a whole lot on Twitter. I meant to, but I can never seem to fit it into my routine.

If you like the blog, of course go ahead and mention it, but I guess I’m not really searching for more followers on Twitter just to have more followers on Twitter.

As you might have noticed, I’m a crappy self promoter (or, since I’m crappy, maybe you’ve not!).

      • lol at that last.

The thing I should do, then, it tweet links for you occasionally and try to get a few people interested in blog.

Let me know if you ever do decide to get into it. 🙂

  2. Hey, Eric. I’m doing a Tolkien-themed A to Z Challenge next year and I’m trying to use it to find new readers for as many of my friends as I can.

If you would like to help me out a little, I will make a deal with you. Give me links to 5-10 of your best Tolkien posts. Doesn’t matter which text you’re talking about in the post. I suggest using a mixture of most popular posts and the ones that you feel are your best work.

I will take your links and use them to brainstorm my posts, and I will write as many of them as I can so as to link to you. If you’re interested, let me know. Best if you pick the posts, because you and your readers know what your best posts are a lot better than me, and this will be an occasion where you definitely want to share your very best work.

    • Hey Gene’O! I’m not really sure what you’re asking. Do you mean the A to Z challenge that happens in April? If you want to pick out a few posts for inspiration, etc., go for it. You would know better than I would about what you’d like to write about. Are you expecting hundreds of more hits and click throughs?

      • um no, nothing like hundreds more hits. Just business as usual. But A to Z will get me a chance to find new readers because it will bring a ton of bloggers to my blog in April.

I can go through your archives and pick out stuff I like, and happy to do it that way. But. You have access to your stats. So you know what your top posts of all time are. You also know which ones you like the best.

Most popular posts are good, because they’re the ones most likely to help you get more readers from search engines if I link to them. Anyway, nothing to sweat about. I’m not going to start the writing until Thanksgiving, and not posting that stuff until April. Plenty of time to discuss.
